R.M.S. Olympic sails the seas and oceans

The R.M.S. Olympic was a British ocean liner, the sister ship of the Titanic, built at the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast. The keel was laid in 1908, launched in October 1910 and entered service in 1911. Measuring 269 meters long and 28.3 meters wide, the giant could reach speeds of up to 24 knots. It was considered the world's largest ship for a dozen or so days, until it lost the title to the Titanic.

The Olympic served passengers for over 20 years, also serving as a military transport during World War I, and in 1918 sank the German submarine U-103. After the war, she returned to passenger service, remaining a symbol of reliability and luxury until 1935.
