Description
Build a diorama of the French military expedition to Egypt and add a true gem to your NAPOLEONIC collection!

Although Napoleon Bonaparte is mainly associated with campaigns in Europe, his most exotic and fascinating expedition took place far beyond the Old Continent, on the banks of the Nile, in the shadow of the pyramids.
Thanks to the Campagne d’Égypte 1798–1801 set from COBI, you can now recreate one of the most unexpected episodes in the history of France and the entire Napoleonic era, the Egyptian campaign.
Build a historical diorama from the time when Bonaparte's army not only fought, but also explored, discovered and documented the heritage of ancient Egypt. Join the discoverers of the mysterious Rosetta Stone to relive this extraordinary expedition!
The Egyptian Expedition – war, science, and... archaeology!
In 1798, instead of invading Great Britain, Napoleon chose an unexpected direction: Egypt. The campaign had a military basis, but it was also accompanied by a scientific mission. 167 scholars were on board the French ships.
The expedition began with the capture of Alexandria, followed by a victory in the famous Battle of the Pyramids. However, the situation quickly became complicated when Admiral Nelson's fleet destroyed Napoleon's ships at Abukir, cutting off his army from France.
The Egyptian expedition ended in military defeat, but it brought something far more significant to Europe... Even more valuable, the enormous increase in interest in ancient Egypt. It was then that the Rosetta Stone was discovered, which later enabled the deciphering of hieroglyphs and initiated modern Egyptology.
The set includes:
• A figurine of General Jean-Baptiste Kléber – a charismatic and experienced commander who, after Napoleon's return to France, took command of the Army of the East.
• A figure of Lieutenant Pierre-François Bouchard – a young French officer of the engineering corps who, on July 15, 1799, made one of the most important archaeological discoveries of all time, the Rosetta Stone.
• A Mamluk figure – a representative of the elite Muslim cavalry, which constituted the main defensive force of Egypt in clashes with the French troops. The figure is designed with attention to detail: from the turban and robe to the traditional saber.

• A model of the Rosetta Stone with a print – an absolutely unique element of the set. The stone is reproduced in the form of a model with a durable print depicting a fragment of the characteristic trilingual inscription (hieroglyphs, demotic and Greek). This discovery later enabled the deciphering of Egyptian hieroglyphs and revolutionized knowledge about ancient Egypt.
• A fragment of the Egyptian landscape – a miniature diorama over 20 centimeters long depicting a section of the Nile Valley. Here you will find a date palm, a coastal strip with delicate vegetation and a fragment of a desert panorama.

• An decorative plaque with the set name – an elegant block with a durable print "Campagne d’Égypte 1798–1801", which looks great as part of the display. This is a detail that adds a professional touch to the set and makes the whole thing look engaging on the shelf.
