Panzerjäger NASHORN 1:28 Scale Model

The limited-edition Sd.Kfz. 164 Panzerjäger NASHORN kit will transport you to the history of one of the most iconic German tank destroyers of World War II, the Panzerjäger Hornisse, also known as the Nashorn (Rhinoceros)!

This unique collector's edition is a treat for modelers and military history enthusiasts. It combines precision craftsmanship with modeling attention to every detail.

A "tank destroyer" needed immediately!

After the beginning of Operation Barbarossa and the appearance of Soviet T-34 and KV-1 tanks on the battlefield in large numbers, the German armed forces quickly felt the lack of an effective and mobile anti-tank weapon. In response to this need, in February 1942, the Alkett factory developed a new tank destroyer – the Geschützwagen III/IV, based on the chassis of the renowned PzKpfw III and IV tanks.

Its armament consisted of a powerful 8.8 cm PaK 43 L/71 anti-tank gun. Due to its weight, the chassis was lengthened and the engine relocated to the center of the vehicle, while armor was kept to a minimum. The vehicle, known as the Panzerjäger Hornisse (Hornet), entered production in early 1943, and its modified version, the Nashorn, appeared in late 1943 or early 1944.

High Firepower and Weak Armor

Although poorly armored and with a relatively high profile, the Hornisse/Nashorn was distinguished by its excellent gun with long range and powerful firepower, allowing it to eliminate enemy tanks from long range.

These vehicles played a significant role on the fronts of World War II, particularly during the Battle of Kursk, becoming a symbol of effective combat against Soviet armored forces. Now, one of these vehicles can join your collection in a limited edition!
